Everyone thinks their gorgeous new puppy belongs on the cover of VOGUE!
Of course with a few photo apps, it can happen...at least for your own enjoyment. But how do you get that puppy to pose sweetly for a photo when all it wants to do is wiggle and roll and bite and chew and pee? So Grab Your Camera - Here are 5 Tips that my mom uses for Picture Perfect Puppy Photos...(Say that 3 times fast). 1. A Good Puppy Is A Tired Puppy
Before mom tries to take my photo we have a long play session or a walk or sometimes both. That gets me excited and tired. After our play time, mom sits with me calmly until I am relaxed and more willing to listen to her and stay where I am put.
2. Relax And Be Patient
When I'm doing something cute, mom jumps up and grabs the camera and ALWAYS misses the shot! When she prepares a setting, thinks about the shoot, positions me and just talks to me, I will do almost anything she wants. She also takes lots of photos and tosses out the bad ones. (There are bad ones)?
3. Find The Best Light
Early morning light can lend a surreal quality to a photo. But mom says any natural light is better than a flash that could scare me.
4. Use An Assistant
Sometimes Dad is behind the wall, or under the table. He holds me in position and then steps out of frame just a second before the click. I am the STAR!
5. Keep Your Camera Handy
Of course those candid photos do happen. Keep your camera ready for the unexpected.
Don't Worry, Be Snappy
Puppies don't stay little for long, so get out there and snap those photos now before they grow up ...into DOGS! Take photos from all angles. Close up. Eye level. Underwater. Think outside of the box and your photos will reflect your creativity.
